This work was created as an homage to the oak savanna located in west central Iowa. Oak savanna is comprised of an open canopy of well-spaced sprawling majestic oak trees that sit among seas of sunlight prairie grasses. Today, oak savanna is one of the most endangered ecosystems on the planet.
