A pin cherry ecosystem: Wood panel was first stained with dye made from fruit of Prunus serotina (pin cherry) and soil from Loveland, CO. An ecosystem fed by a decaying human form was drawn using ballpoint pen. All birds, insects, and fungi shown are those that live on and around pin cherry trees.
