Melancholia Landscape in Needlepoint, Cat Mazza, 2026, tapestry, 10 x 10 in. / 25.4 x 25.4 cm.

A needlecraft landscape that draws on a tiny portion of the16th century print Melancholia. It is abstracted in tapestry wool in a geometric patterns also designed in the 16th century. These are based on archival objects I studied as an Artist Research Fellow at the Folger Shakespeare Library, 2026.
