"My work explores the quiet, everyday moments that shape Black family life and become part of our memory. Working primarily from personal photographs, I paint children, parents, and elders in moments of tenderness, play, celebration, and ordinary life.

I am interested in the kinds of images that might otherwise remain in family photo albums - the moments that seem unremarkable when they happen but gain meaning as time passes. By translating these moments into oil paintings, I give them a permanence and attention usually reserved for moments considered historically significant.

At the center of my work is the belief that ordinary lives are worth preserving. These paintings form a growing visual archive of family, joy, intimacy, and presence across generations, honoring not only who is pictured, but the experience of having been there."
